Sanctuary - dangerous, decadent city of magic and menace....the unique metropolis whose stones an stalls, taverns and towers have been lovingly built in story after story by such top spinners of modern fantasy as Robert Asprin, Lynn Abbey, C. J. Cherryh, Janet Morris, Andrew Offut and Diane Duane. In the town's treacherous, twisting and oft-trodden streets you'll meet such formidable denizens as: Ischade, necromancer and thief, cursed with a hunger that can only be sated by death; Straton, a warrior trained and truce - courting deadly danger in the form of a witch's fatal; and Roxane, Death's Queen, whose power is nearly unstoppable, and whose boundless ambition makes her the bane of all. In THE SHATTERED SPHERE you will encounter warriors and wizards, lovers and liars, thieves and victims.... 22 tales of woe and wonder, including: "Hell to Pay" by Janet Morris, in which Niko, master of mental and martial arts, falls prey to his nemesis, Roxane, and must pin his hopes on priestly intervention or be caught up in a witch's war. "Dagger in the Mind" by C. J. Cherryh, in which Ischade's appetite for death leads to a fateful dinner where someone is bound to get his just desserts. "Down By the Riverside" by Diane Duane, in which the untimely demise of a healer priest prompts a rescue expedition to hell. Three enthralling collections in one volume: THE DEAD OF WINTER, SOUL OF THE CITY and BLOOD TIES. Robert (Lynn) Asprin was born in 1946. While he wrote some stand alone novels such as Cold Cash War, Tambu and The Bug Wars and also the Duncan and Mallory Illustrated stories, Bob is best known for his series fantasy, such as the Myth Adventures of Aahz and Skeeve, the Phule’s Company novels and the Time Scout novels written with Linda Evans. He also edited the groundbreaking Thieves’ World anthology series with Lynn Abbey. Other collaborations include License Invoked (set in the French Quarter of New Orleans) and several Myth Adventures novels, all written with Jody Lynn Nye.

Bob’s final solo work was a contemporary fantasy series called Dragons, again set in New Orleans.

Bob passed away suddenly on May 22, 2008. He is survived by his daughter and son, his mother and his sister.
